Plus it generally is free to the consigned. That's why the shipper is aranaging direct to store delivery and not to a distribution center. They target certain markets where they want more market share. Give those stores some deeply discounted/free - get shelve space, get price conscious shoppers to buy and hopefully keep buying at normal prices.

Not one bit. I'd prefer if my carrier went back to the old days of only hiring guys with five+ years experience in the field. Less competitors for the gravy.

I was stating an observation to a couple guys, which i quoted. Some of you are super happy and content with where you are at and doing what you do, and that's awesome. That's the key to life right there.

But a guy has to wonder about the other folks when they get super excited about a load paying x on y miles and those of us that have been doing this trucking thing for a bit longer kinda go...ummm, ya, that's what a load is supposed to pay, it's not special.

I'd be the first to acknowledge CS here is incompetent at times (almost as much as support shift), wouldn't compare that to brokers though.
I don't got to worry about getting paid here, unlike dealing with brokers.
Even on pay error loads I've gotten paid.
Just like Schneider posts loads for .17 a mile they sometimes but rarely post loads at big amounts by mistake.
Also i dont have to call CS to book loads and fight it out on rates.

Actually no not on the team side, ZERO loads within 300 miles of Sacramento for two day period. One is up now, cheap and heavy. Think I'll go play poker instead if that doesn't change today.

If Schneider decides they want us to sit today think I'll be headed to Reno.
Schneider makes that decision by posting ZERO loads

FW, customer service does everything a broker does except pay us. They deal with the customer set appointments and handle all interactions other than paying the driver.

I'd say they're our version of a broker oh wait we don't have access to them as we would a broker. Guess they're worse than a broker.

Isn't it Schneider logistics that handles all that.. like setting the appointments and rate then selling that "load" to Schneider national? The CS we deal with would appear to just be the middle men we deal with and the customer deals with after the fact.

That's what it appears like, i remember u even talking about it....

Theres some more info on the jarhead thread but i cant quote anything from there.
