Plus a core if you don't have a 13. Also is a bit more than just the shift knob. The whole shifting tower is different. But can buy a used one at any salvage yard for a couple hundred, so not a big deal.

I just priced it out over the summer. I was looking at buying one of the gliders SNI is selling. It was $3,850 for a direct 13 plus a couple hundred for the shift kit. They were giving me credit for trading in the 10 spd. They mentioned having to redo the tower.
(It included a 2 year warranty also) -
That's not bad, most places won't accept a ten as a 13 core. Was this some small independent shop?

Is your transmission automated or manual. I'm tossing around the idea of specking a cascadia. The little bit of experience I have driving one with the dd15, was with a ten speed. On mountain grades it seemed to like to be pulled way day almost to the lug point. Down shifting from 10th to 9th seemed to do nothing. It was always 10th to 8th. Because of the massive torque curve I question the need for a 13. My 60 series could sure use a 13 but I can't seem to decide if it's worth it or not with a dd15..

It's a fairly decent sized shop in the Chicago area.

I personally would like a dd15 with a 13sp but with 3.58 rears. Would be awesome in the hills and require less throttle on the flats. But that's just me. I'm old school and not a fan of these short gears.mxpx148, PoleCrusher and sealevel Thank this.

My train of thought is that the torque curve of the dd15 is so broad and flat I wouldn't think splitting gears on a pull would help. I'm thinking it would be more beneficial when in a 55 mph zone and 10th is too high and ninth is too low. I could be looking at this wrong. What are you driving now?

Another question. What does Sni spec for rears with a 10. And what does SFI spec with a 13. I try to find out myself Everytime I'm at the Charlotte repot lot, but the doors are always locked. Lol.

Don't know if the Cascadia comes with a 13sp. They do come with the 10 sp direct or auto shift , 2.64 rears. The premium trucks get the 13sp. Mine has 3.36 rears. Kenworth Cummins power.sealevel Thanks this.
