Sorry Brother. Prayers your way. Was your house in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge? I can't remember which. I agree with the others. Stay strong. Your young. You've still got your health, truck, career, friends, family, and a bright future. You'll be just fine.

My roommate was doing laundry when his coworker was driving on the road connecting Gatlinburg to Pigeon Forge saw our hill engulfed in flames. She called my roommate and said you need to gtfo.
At that point he looked outside the fireline was maybe 30 feet from our driveway.
Left immediately and was honking and yelling for everybody to gtfo.
From that point within 10 minutes all the houses on my driveway/hill were on fire.

Spoke with the Red Cross today and they said only 30% of the area has been searches through so far. Gatlinburg is still pretty much shut down.
10 confirmed deaths so far but that will go up. Many missing people. Kids with missing parents and everything.

The massive wind pushed the fire and embers soo quickly as is why I think it was soo devastating.

Oh man. Not sure what else to say that everybody else hasn't already. Sorry to see those pics, but you're alive anyway and insurance will rebuild. Life is such a ##### sometimes. Hang in there.

Painful to see. Two of my kids live in western NC, so I've been following this pretty closely. Glad you and yours are safe.
