Load alerts are coming to our load board! [IMG]

Just saw the announcement per our Portal!

(*ALERTS COMING TO THE IC CHOICE PORTAL 7/19**
This weekend there will be an upgrade to the computer system. The code drop will bring new alert features to the IC Choice freight selection tool. Contractors will be able to create and save customized searches as well as sign up for alerts to be sent to your MCP200 or email.)

Supposedly you can set for a specific search.. date/time, specific search including where to do and what rate.
Then if a load you're looking for hits a match then an alert message gets sent to your truck and/or email.

Just think.. instead of endlessly searching for a load to get you home, when a match hits it alerts you via info sent to your truck! How awesome is that!?!

Wooo this should be fun! [IMG]

    Don't get too excited...

I read the announcement on Crossroads...

We'll see how it plays out. I do like the feature where they send an alert to your phone when a load cancels...

    Roll on...

Problem is 1000 drivers will be camping on same loads SNI will now have ability to real time track your load preferences and lower rates accordingly.

That's my optimistic opinion of course.

Dunno about that.. a lot of the rates are locked in contract with Schneider customers.
A lot of the loads I've done repetitively the rates has stayed the same over months (besides FSC).
Couple times on brokered loads I bumped into other drivers and we compared rates which was basically the same (per the % they said they're getting).

The real problem if there is one I'd say is about real good loads going fast.
Now as is they go within seconds.. couple minutes at tops.
All this will do is make it tougher to get great loads.
My current approach of checking the load board a lot to catch great loads (which has worked well) will now be thrown out the window being many drivers will be alerted of them.
So there's positives and negatives about this change.
Overall though I think it will be helpful.

You nailed it FW. Im excited to see how it all works, but i think as choice grows its just going to make it more difficult to grab the good loads, and its already a pain in the ### some weeks, hate to think it would add to a problem. We'll seeeeee

Yes that is definitely a concern of mine.
Could you imagine a $2 a mile load pop up leaving NJ going to Chicago and 1000 different trucks being alerted all at once? About half of them pulling off the road and jumping on the laptop and hitting "assign" all at the same time!?!?

    hahaha wooo weeee!

All I gotta say is...... who's got the fastest finger baby!

Let the load battles begin! [IMG]
