Seriously this winter has been tough to put it mildly. I don't have to go into details as im sure everyone on here knows just how ugly its been and plus, I don't want to complain. This march will be 2 years, 1 year left on the lease.. the last couple of months have had me counting the minutes. We all know winter is ####ty and slow.. im really hoping come April the rates get better, because at this point if they get any worse i might as well take the truck to swift.

You drivers that are doing a 3 year lease do you get the title to the truck at the end of the 3rd year? Or is there a buy out?

Buy out if you choose to purchase it. You can do that, or turn it in, get your security deposit back(double) so 6k, then whatever is left in your maintenance. If all goes well im hoping to get 12-14k back and I'll take that a buy a used truck.

Or if the rates get better I'll stay here and purchase the truck, its got 220k and I haven't had any issues with it. I keep up on all the maintenance, i had the DPF cleaning done a few months back so thats the only real money I've spent since having it, I really do like the truck.

I miss those days, seems very short lived thinking about it now probably because it was. @TennMan has seen the most drastic changes im sure... but man even 2 years ago i was working half as hard and making twice as much, literary. Still the same loop man, i made a mistake and stumbled in PA last week. HUGE mistake. I saw some of the same loads I've seen before paying .20-.30 less. Are you still teaming and hows everything going for you?

It will continue to get worse.

I tried warning everyone 18 months ago.

Here's your warning for the next 18 months, as long as there's drivers coming on the choice program SNI will not reverse course. The only way they'll reverse the downward spiral is when they're losing more drivers than they are hiring.

Yes there's alot of empty trucks however there's more wanting to come on board and every day there's a company driver who reaches the 6 month mark who is then eligible to become an IC.

    I'm counting my days.

Can't wait to turn in this truck.

Choice is only feasible now if you own your truck or are a company driver going from 600 a week to 800 a week as a choice driver. And that's exactly what SNI wants.

Good luck to all but I can't wait to leave.

Next time, if a trailer is available at your location take it. Send a free form message saying you pick up empty at location. I don't care what the message say. If empty is there I take it. Never had a problem. Some customers require you take empty. That's the excuse I use, if ask.

That's good to know, but if there wasn't an empty, it would have been too close to the appt time to have the load pulled, and for $227, I decided it wasn't worth the risk of the trailer hunt...i would have been going from Breinigsville, to Minersville for an empty, to Tunkhannock and then live unload in Tannersville in the AM. The load wasn't really worth it to begin with, but was looking for any revenue I could find.
