I'm making just as good in terms of profit now as I was a year ago, but it's harder work. Really gotta watch where you go. Much more time on the load board, but most of the drop in freight has been offset by much lower fuel costs.

I pay really close attention to where I buy fuel now, and haven't used the Schneider fuel card in over a year.

It's pure ignorance. Just like the quarterly inspections. It's a matter of life and death for us to do our quarterly inspections, but Schneider can't manage to even get the 6 month inspections done on trailers.

No issues moving to Florida. Just don't count on a load home or back out. Check your PMs.

Once again, good paying unconfirmed loads mysteriously disappearing while junk loads confirm the minute they're posted. I'm normally not a big conspiracy theorist, but the signs are pretty overwhelming. I highly doubt all these good paying customers are canceling.

I'm inching close to the point of my own authority and if I go broke so be it. I'm sick of the constant stare down with the load board only to end up pissed off.

I woke up to a message on my phone this morning from one of the TEs at Charlotte. I returned the call and spoke to a different TE. Told him I needed to do it tomorrow (Wed). No problem...lots of slots. I thanked him for being the only one during this entire process who was proactive and I'd be there at 9 in the morning.

Fortunately, this is my last one. Even if I find myself somehow stuck in this profession a little longer than I had hoped, it won't be here.

RootHog, TennMan and mxpx148 Thank this.

Just don't stop your youtube channel! I got a kick out of the story you told in the Battleship vid.

Exactly. I'm at home right now, and have been unable to book any loads because I can't schedule this exercise in babysitting. Finally have a slot for Wednesday. PITA.
