It's not that complicated. But unless you score a few direct customers your net income won't dramatically change. People tend to forget that like us, a broker wants to make add much add he can. You better be ###### good at negotiating if you expect him to pay top dollar. In effect what happens to most guys that their only business experience is being leased to a carrier, they go out and get their own numbers and instead of a carrier keeping 25% they are pulling for a broker for 75% of what the customer is paying. 100% of 75 bucks isn't anymore money than 75% of 100 bucks.

I am genuinely looking for how its as bad as you guys are saying.
I do see those low paying loads of .75-1.00 per mile... but there are other more paying loads out there. At least in all the areas id be running. Shoulda checked what loads pay running into MN or ND/SD -

Also SNI changes the rules and add more regulations at every turn. It was only about a year ago that they implemented rules only allowing EPA2010 and newer equipment be leased on...the new word through the grapevine is that all new equipment to be leased on also needs some form of collision avoidance system installed...waiting to see if they start specifying only certain colors are allowed on the program
Cledus Snow and TennMan Thank this.
