Don't come here, you'd be better off as a company driver for Western Express.

If your cost per mile is 1.20 and you are pulling for 1.50 you are making 30 cents. Isn't the idea of going into business to make more money than an employee? That's less plus gives up all the benefits of being an employee.

My whole business plan from the beginning was 2-3 loads a day. Longer loads always paid crap unless going to blackholes.
I barely drove and did very well.
    Can't do that anymore here.

I didn't take a shot at you. I tried to clue you in to the realities you can't know until you have done it. If you are pulling cheap dry van general freight there will be no building relationships. With cherrios and toilet paper the lowest cost provider will always get the freight. I wasnt bashing you, i was trying to pass on lessons i learned doing what you said you want to do.

I don't understand the problem here. It feels like some of you guys seem to think everyone is attacking you, when in fact they are just trying to open your eyes to see a bigger, clearer picture. If anyone has a problem with me, and what i have to say i suggest they use the ignore button so they will no longer be offended by my statements.

How about us choice drivers form our own carrier and work together!

we'll call it "Super Trucker Transport!"

More miles does not equal more money. Gotta get out of that company driver mentality. Using tarps as an example cause you mentioned them. If a load goes 100 miles shorter, but needs tarps and pays 500 more than a typical van load in the same lane that tarping made more money than the wheels spinning.

TennMan, driverdriver and drvrtech77 Thank this.
