Haha. Yea whatever you say buddy. Trucking been part of my family for generations and I'll be company driving first for a year to learn SNI lanes and customers.. but I'll be the one who fails... especially since I already have close to 50 k saved in the bank, a mortgage free house, and my wife is a hard working nurse... but yea I'm gonna fail...

Only a jealous man wishes harm on others...

So let me get this straight based on what I'm reading. You're going to put in the bare minimum as a company driver? You're then going to switch over to IC and completely pay off a truck by next year?

Maybe you have a lot of money saved up, and if so don't know why you'd blow 150k cash on a truck right up front when you don't have any clue what you're getting into. Sounds like you're living in some kind of fantasy world.

And furthermore it's the hard working people, dedicated people that roll with the punches and always make it work... whining and crying because of poor decision making, unintelligent decision making, and just pure laziness, that's what I'm mostly picking up here.

I'm already farther ahead then some because I am already a business owner-minded, work hard, and dont whine about every little thing that's doesn't go my way... again I'll let you boys get back to bickering... and I'll sift the the 99% garbage to get the 1% of good info on here.

    Cheers.

Hate to bust your bubble pal. Your families history in trucking doesnt mean jack. I'm not saying you are destined to fail, but if you succeed or fail it will have absolutely nothing to do with how much industry experience your papa has. It will come down to if you are bright enough to figure out how to make it work.

The goal is to save another 25k over the next 1.5 years.. and pay half down on a truck... then pay it off within 2 years of that... realistic and very manageable...

That's a good point, how many successful businesses were run into the ground by incompetent children and grandchildren.

I think he's got the 'fake-it-til-you-make-it' paradigm down, anyways
