I know for a fact that the collision mitigation will be required by years end... that's already enough to drop the herd a heck of a lot.

The one guy who posted it used to be an osr which is a somebody that works in the office so I would take his word as pretty credible since he still has many contacts in the office

Slight disagreement. First, you door void the warranty by working on a truck. Warranties are very sourdough in what you can do, and not do. For example: Running the over head, no problem. Change a bad sensor no problem. Bypass the emissions? Now the warranty on the after treatment and engine is void. But the tranny, rears, and disowned is still covered.

And second. A guy running a truck 5 years ago has lots to offer in todays trucking climate. It hasn't changed that much. But id have to think about the quality of his knowledge . Why isn't he still doing it? Did age catch up and he retired? Pick his brain. Was he not making money so gave it up? That dude can teach ya what NOT to do. Whatever he advises, do the opposite.

A collision avoidance system will not prevent accidents... an idiot behind the wheel as an idiot behind the wheel they're going to have accidents regardless of what system is on the truck

Well most are drivers. Others are planning to be drivers.

As someone with no bone in the fight,(my only affiliation with the pumpkin is I've brokered a load from them on occasion) i find it hysterical to see a guy that's never even driven for a living to be here basically telling all these pumpkin guys that he will be much more successful than they are.

Going forward I can see it, but retroactively requiring both a camera and a collision avoidance system,, I just don't see that. SNI is coming dangerously close to IC's being considered employees. But hey, that's one way to clear the herd and get new guys to do the fleece program.
