Dam we got some excitement going again in this thread.
Why you wanna ruin all the fun.
That's the most excitement this thread has had in weeks.
Whole lot of us outsiders who have no skin in this game
Pay close attention to what's going on here.
We get to watch the whole Schneider choice rollercoaster
Unfold right before our eye's.
We're getting free lessons on how this whole
Thing works.scottlav46 and poppapump1332 Thank this. -

PoleCrusher, Wanderer1, Bo Hunt and 5 others Thank this. -
If it continues people get banned and posts get deleted.
That drama ain't happening here anymore. -
Your 100% correct if I had 50k I'd go buy outright a good used pre emissions truck plenty of small outfits will let you sign on an older truck.PoleCrusher and Home_on_wheels Thank this.

Try getting your CDL before patting yourself on the back because of how successful you are.
It's all about putting in your dues.PoleCrusher, spyder7723 and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
I would put half down and finance the rest for 2yrs. If your going to stay in this business for a period of time. Building business credit goes a long way. But, you have to have discipline. Most old timers think paying for cash is the right way. I did it different , and finance a truck for 3yrs. I could had paid it off in 2 yrs. The truck I got cost me 23k. Yes, I have put money into this truck. Now, I have stellar credit and I could go out and buy whatever I want. There is no get rich scheme in owning a truck. You have to have a Plan of Action or contingency plan. just my .02Opus, drvrtech77 and poppapump1332 Thank this.

Same for me with a long load out of Phoenix. I had a screenshot, and they changed it back. They weren't very happy about it, but they had no choice.freightwipper and milehunter43 Thank this.

I honestly hope he succeeds and look forward to his thread, if he makes one. At least he is thinking ahead and planning and doing research. I cannot count the times I have heard ,"I just bought a truck and I'm an owner-operator. What do I have to do now?"
I would question the advice you're going to get from your relatives as they are in different freight fields than what you'll be doing. Even Reefer is very different than dry van freight ( in my opinion)
With yourban large amount of saved cash, and mechanic skills, I question the need for you to have a new truck and make payments. You could easily find a used truck that would last you several years of no payments and do the maintenance and such yourself. Hell, you could buy a cheap truck and rebuild it for what you want to put down on a new one.
But I am heavily biased. I don't like new trucks as I've never had one that ran without a boat load of break in issues.
And I love old trucks. I still like FLDs and classic XLS lol
But I wish you well and look forward to your adventuresSingingWolf and PolishPrince Thank this.
