I wonder if this is a "ship you up to Chicago" type situation, similar to the "we'll fly you down from Alaska for 3 weeks" ad.

What are you company drivers averaging per week miles wise?

You're putting the cart before the horse.
You haven't even tested for your CDL.
I'm not trying to harsh your buzz but figuring all these numbers when you haven't even driven a mile yet is..
    Well foolish.
Try and focus on getting into the drivers seat.
Running numbers will drive you crazy.

I was bored today and started playing with the calculator.

If you're at Stevens making 85cpm, lets say you run 3000 miles a week. That's $2550 gross
    Figure the truck gets 7mpg, that's 428 gallons of fuel @$2.399/gal: -$1028
    Truck payment -$600
Insurance?? is $100 per week reasonable?

    2550-1028-600-100
=$822 per week BEFORE taxes and other truck expenses (oil changes, tires, brakes, A/C went out, yada yada)

As a company driver making 38cpm, you'd run 2163 miles to get that same check. At 45cpm, 1826 miles.

    I don't get it!

I'm not saying Stevens is good by any means but you are omitting the fuel surcharge from your calculation. So maybe you could bump that net up to $1000-$1100 lol. Insurance is going to be higher though.

    It's never personnel.
    It's just business.
When a company changes direction the drivers have
    2 options.
Go with the flow or move on.
Don't stick around and waste your energy trying to
Get things back the way they used to be.

Schneider knows exactly what there doing.
They hold all the cards, they got all the money
    And all the freight.

The good thing for you and the other guys on here is
Your free to go anywhere you want.
I'm willing to bet that some of you guys end up with
A better gig the you had here.

I do have a question about that. Does Schneider require new CDL holders to have a school certificate or if I just get my CDL A in hand thats all the requirements, besides the obvious clean MVR and work history etc.. Their website isnt clear and will call the office tomr, just wondering if anyone knows of hand.

I know it used to require CDL school for new drivers, but does it still?
