So I drop literally 3 miles from the Indy oc, no empties. My next load is a 52 mile dh. Send exception, told to drive 75 miles north to get an empty. So if drive to get it, then to my next load total of 149 miles.
I'm getting low on hours, have just enough for my next two loads. And there has to be a customer near here that has empties, I'm in downtown Indy for Christs sakes.
I call them and tell them that excrement ain't happening. Was put in hold for 15 min. Then told box team hasn't answered yet, they will send a message.
I wait.
I call back and after 10 min on hold was told market is bad right and to go to the Indy oc and stage and wait for an empty to come in.
Deep breath.
I go to the oc and ask to be notified if any empties come in. The guy looks at me like I'm an alien. He tells me to go to row A and pick one out. I ask, you have empties here??? He says yes go get one lol. So I got to row A and I look at the whole row of about 40 trailers. Now to be fair, they all weren't probably empties, but I pull up to the first three and check all three, and they're empties. So I hook and go.
So we have a situation of either these idiots are really, really inept, incompetent, morons, or they are sending IC's on trailer chases while company trucks get the trailers at the oc.
While both are probably true, I tend to lean toward the latter.Opus, PoleCrusher, stevep1977 and 9 others Thank this. -
Company truck chasing empties cost Schneider money.
IC chasing empties cost Schneider nothing.
Which fits their method of operation?
Enough said.Opus, PoleCrusher, CaptainDaveG and 5 others Thank this. -
