How are they charging him all those fees if he completed the lease term?!

    It's called usury....

an unconscionable or exorbitant rate or amount of interest; specifically: interest in excess of a legal rate charged to a borrower for the use of money

just thumbnail because I can't watch it again........."If you pay us $1600 now, we're done. If you make payments, it's $5,000." Absolutely off the chain. And what's worse, the guy doesn't even seem to get it. He's more hung up on how long it took them to bill him.

Seems real sleazy of Schneider finance.

Is the repositioning and marketing fee spelled out in the operating agreement?

I should start a $1 per mile pick your own freight program!
Heck drivers love hauling cheap freight nowadays anyway.

They wanted him to drag the trailer almost the whole way home. 220 miles pulling a trailer is a HUGE difference than bobtailing 220 miles.

I was under the impression that those fees were for early termination?

Trucking doesnt have to be dirty and awful. Lot of good companies out here that treat their owner ops as true business partners. Before walking away from the industry give one of them a chance. The difference will be night and day. You might actually enjoy the industry.

Does he not take an empty out of that market when he returns to service? This isn't rocket science. You said yourself repositioning is important with a drop and hook company. Now if he's going to BT back to Atlanta, then no harm, but we all know he doesn't plan on doing that.
