I'm currently buying my truck through Prime. I'm on the tanker division. As someone else mentioned, Prime likes to micromanage us. Our rates over here have dropped lately.

This thread is entertaining in some ways lol. It's been a good read though.

    Glad you enjoyed the thread.

If you don't mind sharing.. what's your average rate for all miles over there at tanker and what lanes do you run?

You might want to talk to this driver:

He just came over here from Prime, brought his truck here and I believe he's still paying his lease payments to them.

I've averaged about $1.45/mi. I primarily run Chicago, IL, to Savannah, GA, and northeast of that. I also run a lil bit into Arkansas.

The biggest advantage here at sni choice...NO micromanagement. ..we essentially book out loads and go about out daily business and office people usually only here from us on load issues otherwise we become "strangers" to them..lol

Chicago, the Northeast and tanker all for $1.45?
    That sucks...

I'm currently running crap areas of Oklahoma and then Mississippi for about $1.52 all miles.
This is my first time out here.

Food grade tanker at that. I generally don't run many miles each week, but lately I've had to run more miles for less revenue compared to last year.

My how the mighty have fallen...

Must have needed a change of scenery desperately... Or desperation of another kind....

Still a van driver getting less percentage shouldn't be able to make more money than you in my option.
I'm sure the only reason why that's happening is because Prime sticks you guys with cheap freight.
That's why picking your own loads is you way to go wherever you go.

I can say from experience with prime. ...they try to run every aspect of your business and claim they're just trying to help you...the minute you turn down a load that's not profitable is the minute they start black balling you...
