Is that just because he is looking and waiting for the highest dollar freight or is it because it's just that hard to actually get confirmed freight because so many other drivers are clicking at the same time? I was thinking I could start at home, book some freight, and peruse the board while being unloaded or loaded for my next load.

There are appox. 2500 other IC' s looking at the board too. A long with dispatchers and planning.

 

Yeah, that's what I figured. Confirming loads becomes a nightmare due to competition.

 

If you don't mind running for $0.90/mi, you can be booked out for two weeks in about 5 minutes.

 

I mind. That's less than I've been running for at my current company. Current 1.11 all miles.

That brings to mind another question..how is the fuel surcharge handled. Is it quoted in the price on the board, or is it added in later when the miles you run are calculated for your paycheck?

 

Some say there's multiple boards... and they just show the loads they want to who they want .

 

That would be sad and unfair. The illusion of choice and of freedom. Not to mention, easy to starve somebody out if you make enemies at HQ.
