Take the info you've learned here & if you've got a good head on your shoulders you will be ok. Choice is a decent starting gig to get your feet wet with little risk.
I know you do well & like it there & that's cool but it's not the best option for van. I'm doing much better since I left. So your statement is not completely true. However, it is the best option for some. It's a good place for someone that doesn't have a lot of trucking experience to start their O/O career with very little risk.

There is no route to start an O/O career with "very little risk".
Everytime we get in a truck we're putting ourselves at risk just with the crazies out on the road.
Nevermind for one the fact if someone crashes into you or the truck breaks down your overhead doesn't stop.. those bills keep coming and you can't just simply hop into another truck and keep making money like a company driver can. -
Here we go again. It seems like everytime I say something here comes the Mercer guys. Work at Mercer 2 or 3 years and come back and tell me how great it is. I bet you my paycheck, you will not be there long. Stop comparing me to others. There is a lot more people doing better than me. They just don't post it here. I don't like to be called a liar. So, stop it.

I'd take Choice van over Mercer Van.. Mercer specialty is flat period

He didn't compare you to anyone. And he didn't call you a liar. You wake up in the wrong side of the bed this morning?

Mercer dry van smokes thee choice board...they're getting 2.50 after a broker then the agent get their cut...those are 600 no runs..never in a million years would sni give you that..so he's not lyingspyder7723 Thanks this.

This is all hearsay. I'm going too leave it at that.

Yep. The trucking market, in all segments, is on fire right now. Every trucking company is making a killing today, it's simply that easy like shooting fish in a barrel. The difference is if you are leased to a company that had a large amount of company trucks...the leased trucks only see the cream of the crop loads when no company truck can cover it.Home_on_wheels and hawkjr Thank this.
