So let's see, one week out:

    2800 miles x $1.15 = $3220
    2800 ÷ 7 mpg = 400 gallons
    400 x $2.60 a gallon = $1040, throw in say $20 for DEF.
Then $1100 for all the weekly Schneider/SFI deductions.

Grand total $1040 to you, less than a company driver and at a higher tax rate.
    Company driver 2800 miles ×.45 = $1,260

Now if the IC took 3 days off in a week at those same numbers they'd pretty much break even maybe earn $140 or so where as a company driver would earn roughly $700.

These people are out here earning less than a company driver for more work/responsibility.
With Schneider having ICs with that kind of mentality rates will never go back up again.

There's one on the Facebook group that was bragging that he grossed $5000 to the truck but took him 3600 miles to do it

Wonder if the 2800 was all miles or loaded miles?

when they said "running for $1.15" I was giving the best case scenario that "running for" meant all miles.
