Videos like that are one of the reasons I don't watch trucking videos or many other diy videos. I don't have the time or patience to sit and wait for them to figure out what they are going to say or how they are going to say it.
Cut the drama no one cares except your momma and your fan girls.drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
Doesn't take as long as you might think. I had my credit destroyed in a divorce, literally 10's of thousands of dollars in defaulted debt. I was basically advised to file bankruptcy. Instead, I buckled down and started repairing my situation. When you don't go the bankruptcy route, you will find that collections people will ultimately take pennies on the dollar. Divorced with horrible credit in 2010. Qualified to purchase a house by 2012 (had credit debts cleared, and a rating over 700). Built the rating to over 800 by 2015 (checked when I purchased my truck), and as of my pickup purchase a few months ago, my credit score had maxed at 850. Still at 850 as of a couple weeks ago when I purchased my new dry van to take off with my own authority.
You can do all of this yourself, completely without the help of credit repair companies. It takes an extremely tight budget, working harder than you want to work, and negotiating with collectors. Most collectors write it off after a short period of time, those with the larger collection totals (I had one that I owed over 50K), tend to not go away. I paid that 50K debt off with less than 5k cash, this one was the major hurdle to be able to buy my house.
Whatever you do, don't file bankruptcy. If you do, you have no control over the time it will take to start building credit again.HalpinUout, freightwipper, gentleroger and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm in the same situation with massive debt from a recent divorce... I just gotta hope these legal fees stop here soon cause this is what's put a damper on everything

How long did it take you to get your credit over 800?
-
Is 800 the magic number?
-
All you need is a 720 and it's not really much of a difference in financial terms
-
People with 850 usually have a loooooooong history of good credit..

I'm at 812 now. It took me 10 years. When I bought my truck 7years ago. My credit score was 650. My interest was 14% on truck.
scythe08 and freightwipper Thank this.
