He started it. Yes give up. You'll never convince me that a guy can't make money at Mercer & even do better than at Schneider. Why? Because it happened to me. May not happen for everyone. I can't control what someone else does or if they have the ability to learn a system.

Funny how I post about a load cancelling & some guy comes along taking about making money. Lol. SMH ..

Because his brother's uncle's mom's brother's son tried it once & so that's what everyone makes cause nobody could do better than him.

Lmao funny stuff.. But listen I've worked at Mercer on the van side..I left because the money is garbage.. You only avg about 1.30... When I left the list for Van drivers to switch to flat was 300 drivers long.. Now tell me im lying lol.. That's why they went to rent instead of buying van trailers.. People were turning them in weekly...I made more money on Van at Schneider then i did at Mercer... Let's separate the rules and politics and keep it strictly about money.. The guys that are doing well on the van side and when I say well I mean 1.60 an up are going coast to coast every week with forklifts. Now tell me I'm lying again. I know all about the van side at Mercer.. It's not that great to be coming on this thread and bragging.. @spyder7723 @drvrtech77 run flats they're doing great and better than Van at Schneider but you aren't.. Two weeks of decent paying loads don't mean anything. And yes I left Schneider to come back to Mercer to do flatbed not Van..I wouldn't move lateral.. Unless I went to Landstar!!!!

I've talked to some owner operators while loading or unloading. Guys, and 1 gal, pulling the exact same load, and you can believe that we are getting completely shafted by SNI. On several occasions, after finding what the load actually paid, our rate was 40% - 45% of gross.

But the advantage SNI has is contract freight. Right now van rates at Mercer and LS probably are better than at SNI, we're in the middle of a hot freight market and the bulls are running hard.

When this ends, and it will, don't be surprised when some of these guys start trying to come back to SNI.

I'm still here because no other carrier that I've found allows me to be home most days and still get good rates. And for you "depends on your definition of good" types, that means $1.80+ per mi and $4200+ per week gross. And that's way down from what I used to do here.

Waiting on my crown to come back. It takes 7 to 10 business days. Was going to too wait till crown came back. I booked a couple of loads. I been home a week. Was looking at the load board, and couldn't resist the cheap loads. So, I booked some till my crown comes in. Freight has went up a tad.

I'm not going to tell you you're lying because your not. You just don't know what's it's like now. Rates have changed drastically in the last 3 months. I don't run forklifts. Why you ask? Because they don't pay enough for me to run them. I make better money by NOT running coast to coast & by hauling other freight.

As polecrusher mentioned it's a bull market right now. Yes rates will drop back down just like happens every year & then our rates will be more in line with Schneider's rates.

@Corso1504 I'm not sure what your problem is & why you attacked me & are trying to start a d#@k measuring contest. All I did was post that I thought it was funny that even after I left Schneider they are still cancelling loads on me after they're booked.

I didn't leave Schneider just because of their crappy rates, that was a small part of it. I wouldn't come back if Schneider was paying $4 a mile on every load. If you're happy there then great. I know RickyBobby is as are a few others that I know that are still there. I wasn't happy at Schneider so I went somewhere that treats me like an o/o & it works better for me. But just understand that just because you or someone else couldn't make money pulling a van at Mercer doesn't mean it can't be done.

With that, I'm going to leave this thread since FW isn't even here hardly anymore. You guys get too upset when someone says your precious choice program isn't the only place to make money. SMH...
