Those dat numbers don't tell the whole story. Two things. In over ten years of using dat they never once called me asking what rate i got on a load, and I've never met another opener operator who was contacted by dat for that info. So where are they getting their numbers from? Large logistic companies like jb hunt and chr and tql.

2nd. When looking at national average rates you won't get a real picture of rates. You have to look at soecific segments of trucking and their individually strong lanes.

I'm sorry but you left Mercer which is all O/O to go compete with company drivers at Schneider as a O/O and now your going back to Mercer to do flats? Am I reading this correctly?

Its a low rate at any company. Mercer has a lot of guys willing to run cheap. same as any other carrier. This is why fleet average numbers mean absolutely nothing. Gotta look at the top 20% to get a good grasp of what opportunity is available.

You don't say. I wouldn't never guess that. Thanks for explaining that. Obtw, where do I find the top 20?

A good company will give you that number if you ask them. They might not have it at their fingertips but should be willing to call you back with it.
