Yes, one of the TQL brokers explained that they basically worked under the name, just like Landstar agents, but their offices were independent of each other.

They are decent on rates, but rarely agree to go high enough to load my truck.

That's how many of the large brokerage firms work. Chr is another example of that.

One advantage of the large brokers is you can typically get somebody on the weekends if you want a load. I've done that once with CH Robinson ( only load I have hauled for them). I had taken a nice load from Indy down to Alabama where rates sucked. CH Robinson had an easy short load with a good RPM that got me up to an area where I could get some good loads after delivering it on Monday. Without that load, I would have been searching through some cheap Alabama freight, or deadheading into an area with better rates.

it's amazing how these brokers will get on their knees and break the bank when they need to get a load covered or risk losing a customer.

    SingingWolf and spyder7723 Thank this.

I seem to remember saying that a couple years ago and every one telling me i was nuts, that the only way to make money was being leased to the pumpkin.

Schneider is good relative to what other big lease big carriers have to offer.
You know the endless .90 a mile we'll dispatch you programs.
That's about as far as that goes though

    SingingWolf Thanks this.

I was at a loves the other day, bought some stuff and asked for a bag and they said they'd have to charge me for the bag. I was like wtf at first then I remembered oh yeah I'm in crazy California!
Forget Mexico, we should build a wall around loony bin California!
