If you think brooklyn is bad, try lower manhattan at 7 am on a Monday morning and 14 wide with a set forward axle long hood long wheel base truck. That was fun.

 

Haven't been To Manhattan yet but don't intend on doing so either... I've been to Brooklyn, I've been to Queen's 2 times and I've been to the bronx... Brooklyn load was the worst...

 

have you called the customer to find out how they offload big trucks?

 

Fyi, new york city has an overall length limit of 55 feet. But its only enforced if you get yourself in trouble.

 

I've done lower Manhattan, that wasn't too bad. Delivered frozen broccoli to some Chinese restaurant supplier. I swear I was in a different world down there.

the way I've always looked at it is, they've had trucks in there before, so mine oughtta fit too. Roll in at 0200 and take a nap.

 

I used to follow that theory. always call and get told oh ya, we get big over the road trucks in all the time. Then i get there and they say 'i didn't know trucks could be that big'. Time to figure out how we are gonna unload on the street.

 

yeah, it's like, "whatever, dude. Here's yo' sheet....." LOL
