Yep... Case in point I ran into a driver one time at the Laredo operating center who was deadheading 439 miles to Fort Worth to pick up a 44000 pound load that paid a $1.39/mi before deadhead... And he claimed that it was a Great load because it went to Case Grande Arizona...smh... He tell me that I don't run like the rest you guys do I told Him that he was stupid.... Which knock that right down to 96 cents a mile Which is unilaterally the most asinine thing anybody can do

If drivers would stop hauling for peanuts it would force rates up.
Here's one example, broker calls me on a OH to PA load. I wasn't interested, he asked if I could "help him out", that the load was already late and needs to be covered. He offered me $1000, I told him that's why the load is late cause you're trying to move it soo cheap.
*Drops the mic* moment right there, broker was stuttering after I said that lol.
Say no to cheap freight.
Make those loads sit then these brokers/shippers will become desperate and will pay up.
All my big money loads came from when a broker/shipper was screwed and needed a load covered immediately, that's what they get for trying hang on too long wanting to move it cheap....then are forced to call me and I make them pay $3 and even $4+ a mile on 1000+ mile loads.
