I think the reason they fill up at at 6 is because a lot of these clowns think they have to park at nightfall..

From what ive seen..they estimate a 4+% gdp growth next year...if that holds true, we will be busy and rates will be great...cross fingers..

HalpinUout, Scott72 and freightwipper Thank this. -
Only problem, they all load up tomorrow afternoon, and the time is just a tad too tight for me to be able to guarantee the 0800 delivery they had (Kansas and Arkansas deliveries). I estimated two hours loading, then 60mph to make the runs, leaving me about an hour short of being able to make the delivery time. Actually leaving me over that since the ontime counts at the receiving window after you drop your trailer.
They tried even more money, but that simply wasn't the issue.
Gonna be lots of loads like these sitting there and rotting til the shippers/receivers learn to adjust. -

I agree ^^^^^. I'm normally at home from the 21 ish. Nope I grabbed the beer load on Saturday for a desperate Broker paying 4 bucks a mile to a hot area. Sure there's a lot of guys at home right now. BUT a lot of O/0 have quit going local etc. I was at a food shipper last week guy in my door. I knock his door and point out he's in wrong door. We chat for a few his boss told him bring truck to the yard we're done. I'm telling you this the megas failed to understand what ELDs would do to the market. There stuck with there crappy contract rates which is steady as she goes so to speak. But can't respond/capitalize on the spot markets. Today at 2pm there was a load from Tulsa to Denver had to be picked up by 10 pm 6500.00 for 725 miles. Mc Donald's was/is low on frys in the Denver Market. All the megas should have pounced on it. Nothing. Just had to be in Denver by 2359 on Thursday. Folks that's almost 10 bucks a mile on the board. You know McDonalds needs there frys. I bet that broker would have gone to 7 to 8 grand. Oh and it's a very good broker.
Idk what's going to happen next year. But I'm guessing we own it!

The industry will adjust and you will see more team freight. Maybe some guys park there truck to protest ELD. What ever the reason, things will catch up.
