They may level out but I don't think they're gonna be going back to the basement rates that so many people are used to seeing..

Only way things will "adjust" is if we get a massive influx of new drivers to make up for more trucks on elogs OR the economy crashes.

I don't see either happening anytime soon, especially the more driver option.
It can be worth it as an O/O if you get good rates but as a company driver to live in a truck, put up with all the bs and get paid peanuts no way.

Been down to Laredo lately? There's a steady stream of new trucks coming out of Mexico.

You're whistling in the wind if you believe these rates are sustainable. Capacity is going to catch up and shippers will adjust to new shipping schedules.

Rates just doubled, some lanes even more! I don't think that will last forever, I'm just happy it conditions have changed making us more valuable.

That has always and will always be part of the labor solution. But it's never been enough on its own and never will be. And even when it's used, it drives up wages within that segment of the work force.

You are relatively new to the industry so you don't remember the driver pay wars of the past. Anytime in the past where there has been a real shortage of drivers even the cheap carriers tried to one up each other in driver pay. That's how we got to the average of 44 cpm (or whatever it is) from the 25 or used to be. Heck i can remember ads on the back of trailers bragging about starting pay of 19 cpm.
