If and when I get burned it's usually due to a Schneider screw up or poor planning on my part... not from people running my "hot routes".
There's always other avenues to do well, the key is in my opinion is to be flexible and take lots and lots of notes.
I made a bad decision going to Oklahoma last week when really if I would have sat for half a day I would have done better for the week. That only was enabled as a possibility due to a previous customer holding MTs hostage.
So I made less money but had very very easy driving and got to see Oklahoma and Mississippi which pretty much never happens.
Some have been complaining about rates and not as many loads.. and some have been doing very well and pulling off their best ever weeks recently.
The driving is the easy part, pulling everything together to where it fits beautifully is the challenging part.
I'm still learning, today I learned that even Sundays can be truly terrible on I95 regions close or around the Northeast. I ran out of hours driving 450 miles for the day.. which screwed me. I thought oh it's a Sunday, good weather and etc so it should be an easy day and I'll have enough time... lol wrong.

However like others have said a laptop is better.Jhustle76 Thanks this. -
