Dude it was never that bad. Even at the worse of the collapse in 07/08 you could still average 1.35 to 1.50. Ya a buck fifty is absolute garbage but it won't put you under unless you're a moron like i was back then and financed to the top of your head.

 

I do know one...if had stayed i wouldn't have been able to do what im doing now...16days off....

 

Man I know the feeling. I managed to hold out until 12/08. Then sitting in PA getting offers of .50 to take a couple pallets back to OH. Tried even to see if I could get 2 or 3 like that to put together but it just wouldn't work out. Ended up dead heading home and selling my truck for less than I owed on it.

 

You'll learn not to trust DAT, or anyone else for market analysis beyond whatever is happening at the moment. I know what I have been through and how quickly things can turn against you in trucking.

 

Yep, you do the best you can and trust your own instincts. I have never said you were lying or inflating the numbers you post.

But I don't want people to think freight pays like this all the time.
