My house is what killed me. Actually it was the young and dumb idea that the money was always going to be easy to get, cause up until that point it was basically taking candy from a baby. But the house is the one thing i decided i had to keep no matter how hard that 4500 a month but was to crack. Sold off all my toys, including my astin martin and bonanza. Sold all but 2 trucks and 3 old trailers. And even had to sell my pete at the end. I actually cried when it pulled out the driveway but what ya gonna do. I needed 20 grand immediately to keep the fuel card going and nobody was making offers on the columbia and there was a standing offer of 50k for the pete. So the pete went.

In hindsight i probably should of kept all the equipment and played the legal game of filing for bankruptcy protection, but i just couldn't look my guys in the eye and say sorry even tho i got a way to raise the cash i won't be able to give ya your paychecks and settlements this week.

I had just bought a new W900 in the beginning in 02/08. Had to start selling my other trucks by September trying to pay my other drivers and stay afloat. I almost made it through, and probably would have if not for that huge truck payment. I think it was maybe end of 02/09 (insert verbal ?), freight started to slowly come back up and I'm like...####, just a couple more months.

Rates and loads are now way beyond what we saw for Holiday time.

200 mile search around Kansas city, loads posted within past 3 hours pick up today/tomorrow 2,226 loads.

Same search for trucks posted = 16

As soon as I posted my truck phone rang non stop. Kansas City to Minneapolis what do you need? $5 a mile. Done! No hesitation

I know. I'm starting to wonder how long he's going to have his current team mate. Gotta be driving him nuts with this hard on he has with the rates.
