    Correct in that many truck drivers are off, but also, production shuts down at many huge plants during this time of the year, other places simply close for a few days.

    I got a quote through my insurance agent with Progressive for around $7k. Same coverages as what I have with Schneider plus coverage for the trailer.

    8 hour sleeper berth, as long as I am getting $75/hour for detention.

    As for the log rules, trying to figure out how to run more is the race to the bottom. Simply charge rates that reflect the work environment.

    But don't think for a second that they are getting free storage. That stuff doesn't sit on those trailers for free.

    Get an address in South Dakota, there is a place that will provide you with this, all you have to do is stay there one night per year, which you can do in an RV park with your truck.

    My truck is out of hours sitting in Chicago. Looks like at least a 15 hour detention at receiver. Why? They had 6 trucks worth of stuff they don't have room for on their floor.

    All this stupid sheet plus elogs is why there aren't enough trucks available and rates have doubled.
