They've been pushing that for years already. Anything to push rates down.

 

Anything to put the small guy/independent out of business.

 

You know if trucking don't work out for you there's sure to be future for you in short story writing or perhaps an auto- biography. Hey i drove a Freightliner Coranado for the first time today there pretty good to drive mine had an 18 speed and ran really smooth.

 

Yes that's true but now there's a government regulations they will claim that leave no other choice.

 

They already have 57' trailers running in some states. Unfortunately for them, we can barely make our way through a lot of towns as it is with 53's.

And as for weight goes... they could always push for higher road taxes (that won't go for roads), and claim it'll be a benefit for infrastructure.

 

Go to 57' trailers, 90k GVW with tri axle trailers, and return to cabovers. Problem solved...lol

not the first I have seen a quote like this. Which suggests to me that all involved knew log cheating was occurring.
