I see Dino lurking. A guy started a new thread needing a refer driver. Go steer him in the right direction.

Anything leaving the northeast if it's not going further northeast is going to pay you 1.10-1.30 that's it... And if it's 1.30/I'm sure it's going to a bad area.. So that guy was very smart I'll take 1.10 to put me in 1.70 area all day.. You guys that believe sitting is the better choice are crazy.. I'm not sitting no where unless I'm home.. And remember if u can make at least 350 off a bad load that delivers within 24 hours u really didn't do all bad.. Fyi

4.25 avg for my first year 2012(hired in dec 2011), but that woul dhave been offset by FSC. so 5k may have been true. But still , 300 a week is newb company driver wages incrementally that go up in the first year!!!

Sounds like another was of "those" drivers that will deadhead 200-400 miles to get to a long cross country run in the southern states that pays $0.85 a mile and drive 75 MPH doing it all the while complaining they're not making any money.

Don't get be wrong I'd LOVE me some long coast to coast runs in the southern states but I'm not gonna do it for fuel money lol.
I can't think of a less profitable operation than to do coast to coast runs run Choice.

    It's good he's gone....
He does sound well qualified to be a recruiter for CR England though lol

and when fuel prices go up so does the FSC to make up the difference and then some if you're getting good MPGs
Some drivers have said that when fuel prices go up so do their profits because at what MPG the FSC is based off of and them getting good fuel economy.
I haven't been doing this long enough to confirm or deny such claims from experience however I can say that driver is full of it lol.

Most often loads do pay $1.10-$1.30 and usually even less than that leaving the Northeast but not ALL the time.
I've yet to leave the Northeast for less than $1.40 all miles, the key for me is patience and by patience I don't mean sitting.
So I run regional up here until something pays half decent to get me out and eventually it always happens.
The longest was about 12-13 days in winter when I ran PA-NY and back endlessly until I saw something that didn't pay peanuts to get me out. Eventually I nabbed a Rochester, NY to Memphis, AR load for $1600.

If someone doesn't have patience or has places they need to be then obviously working that kind of way won't work for them.
There is endless possibility and options in running an operation here.. everybody is different.

yeah the money will increase when the fuel costs go up because of the fuel surcharge... Now I know they base the fuel surcharge off of certain mpg but our trucks get way above that so therefore you should make even more money if you know what you're doing
