It's patience, eventually something decent always comes out of the Northeast. While rare it does happen.
Outbound of New England paying even close half decent is nearly impossible though in my opinion.

You have to be the luckiest choice driver here.

Guys who run nothing but the Northeast never see these loads.

If I were you I'd play the lotto.

Not everyone enjoys sitting at a truck stop all day without a load hitting the refresh button every second on the load board screen.

It's not luck.. it's simply playing the silly game that is this choice board.
Any great load goes in a manner of a couple minutes if not seconds.
You've been here longer than me, you know this.

That's not what I do because obviously I have to drive.. however I do check a lot briefly doing routine stops.
I don't enjoy it but not as much as I don't enjoy cheap freight lol.

I don't see any luck here. In business you either bust ### and work hard to make money or you laze around and complain how nothing is fair and you can't make any money.

Hard work and preparation makes "luck". Studying the system to see how it works and how you need to use it to your advantage will separate the winners from the also-rans (see how politically correct and sensitive I am? I didn't say losers).

Freightwipper, how realistic is it for you to be bringing home 50k+ a year. I mean I read a few posts back and they mentioned 60k net would be a lot of pressure but I think leasing is a big risk with small reward if 60k is that difficult.
    Any thoughts on this?

So when someone says there's some pressure to net 60k to the house, the reason would be nobody's just going to give you anything. That there's a lot of factors that go into running a business and you have to run a good business to make the most out of it?

Or is there something I am not seeing in why it could be difficult to net that amount to the house
