I take back my comment... I don't want to derail this thread. Binghamton to Cincinnati is about 600 mi. 1.80 cpm is not bad coming out of there. I was just up there Saturday... Dam I missed that load. Keep up the good work.

I'm not getting into "net" after taxes..
Everybody's tax situation is vastly different.
Take for just a couple examples I live in TN which means no state income tax vs someone living in NY that means a couple thousand dollars or so probably.
Or somebody who goes home a lot vs me who rarely goes home.. that's more per diem benefit for me.

As far as money goes.. that entirely depends on you.
You could go in the hole, clear six figures after expenses or fall somewhere in that range.
It depends on you and how you run your business.

Will tell you though that I didn't sign my life away to have $1100 a week in fixed costs over my head for three years unless I could earn MORE and work LESS than being a company driver.
Lots of thread posts and even youtube videos of different people's numbers which is very helpful in getting a general idea but still at the end of the day it's all up to you.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I was just trying to wrap my head around the idea of a lot of these drivers failing at the whole lease deal and how some act like its hard to make more than company wages. I don't understand why someone would take the risk unless you are pretty sure you can handle it, but I guess that last line you wrote is what a lot of it comes down to.

havent read all your posts but when you say 2 a mile to ny is that your take home or before the 65 percent is taken out . also do they take on owner ops with there own trucks i wonder? this year has taught me dont go anywhere without booking a backhaul lol it seems everywhere is hard to get out of sometimes

Rates Schneider drivers talk about is after the cut.
The load board shows revenue to the truck and that's what we get.
Other drivers can bring their own trucks here, some are on this forum.

Yup, on percentage that's pretty much the way it goes.
Longer loads usually suck here too.
