Hey @freightwipper you ever play at the Hollywood in Columbus OH. Played there last night. Definitely one of the better rooms I've played in. Full room, lots of action and hourly high hand bonuses till 3am topping out at 2K.

Was having a decent night till I tasted the felt when AK shoved on me preflop. I had the bullets, and he rivered Broadway. :(

    But I still had fun.

I was there a couple times, don't think I played poker there though. When I went I was at the craps table.

Don't feel bad.. last time I played in Bethlehem I raised to $25 with QQ on a $1-$2 table and some jerk called me with 6-8 off suit and flopped a full house  Lost about $300 on that one

Such a lonely Saturday night here as a Schneider company driver sitting in the Sturtevant, WI Schneider drop lot.

Just got 3 months in as a company driver, with 3 more months left to go until I can join the leagues of all you elite Schneider choice drivers.

I feel like I'm struggling here to acclimate to this company lifestyle. This slow truck has pushed me to my limits if almost quitting.

For the past 3 months, I have been pulling all the 45,000lb+ loads you IC Choice drivers have been skipping over on the load boards, as well as all the Northeast loads you guys leave for me, constantly making me struggle to find parking most nights, albeit giving the Petros and TA's a portion of my tiny paycheck just to park.

Soon enough, I too shall be a Choice driver, soon to be forgotten fears of my steers constantly at 12,200lbs, with the tanks half full, praying the scales are closed. I long for the day I get to pick and choose 10,000lb and 20,000lb loads, freeing myself of always having to scale after every pickup.

The day I can run free with all the other buffalo with their un-governed trucks, instead of being treated like a cow, destined to graze the pastures of old, fighting with other cows to get ahead.

Soon, I too shall join the ranks of all the great Schneider Choice drivers that have come before me. Where I no longer have to struggle to run 3000 miles every week, only to take home a $1000 paycheck, knowing if I was a Choice driver, that would be $2000-$3000 in my pocket.

    I patiently sit here. ..waiting. .. 3 more months. .. focus. ..

Until you realize that when you go 70, alllllllll that money goes to fuel! Theae companies govern their trucks for a reason. $$$

There is a balance of being an IC that one has to weigh... go slow and save fuel, at the expense of less miles and loads pulled before your 70 is used up... or more miles and loads within the same 70 hour window. Not hard to figure out which one adds the most to one's bottom line!

I rarely exceeded 62 mph and I'd say I did pretty #### good. Easier to go slow relax and cruise and let billy big rig fight the slow traffic instead of being billy yourself

True story. So today, a nice blue Werner truck was going about 59.8 mph.... He was in front of me, messing up my cruise control since I was going 60.1mph (max cruise), making my truck go BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP.

So I pass him pushing the throttle to 63mph.

On the uphills, he kept passing me up, on the downhills, I kept passing him.

This went on for a few hours.

Now, take a guess how many times I encounter this?

Sadly, I'm the Billy small rig fighting this all day on my entire shift, with all the other Mega Carrier trucks set at 60mph.

Hope you know it's not all fun and games being a choice driver, in fact at least for myself the work aspect has gotten more difficult than being a company driver.
To make the most money on % you have to do everything you hated to do as a company driver.
Easy, light.. long loads driving through many open spaces do not pay well.
In fact it's very rare I do loads over 400 miles and I do see the Northeast even though I hate it there.
Been here over 10 months now and have yet to run out of hours needing a reset or hit 3000 miles in a week.. even on my best financial weeks.
I don't enjoy loads like multistop 45k beer loads in downtown area around Pittsburg but I do them.
Things don't get easier here, they get more difficult.
At least with % you usually get paid for the more BS you put up with.
You don't HAVE to pick difficult loads that pay better, you could do 1000 mile loads and go 70 MPH all the time if you want to but running like that you won't be earning much here.
Above all else go and do whatever is right for you and what makes you happy.
However things like an ungoverned truck should be the last reason why you'd want to lease a truck.
Not trying to be rude or anything.. just keeping it real.
