It's bad right now so bad Swift publicly said they're going to try and STOP growth of the company due to "weak demand".
O/O section on here I keep reading about drivers sitting and terribly cheap rates.
Yeah things are bad.. trying to make it now with brokers and spot market is very difficult.
While things are certainly worse here like everywhere thankfully we still have some accounts with customers pumping out loads where the rates haven't changed.
Figuring out to get the most of the system which suits your needs is on you though.
Unless you go to dead areas there's always loads here, just less and rates are overall less.
Only time I've had to sit is my own fault for not booking early enough around major holidays.
There's still great loads that pop up but they go in seconds.
Knoxville area is not bad or great, it's okay.
That's simply my experience though.. so take away whatever you want from that.
As far as the load board, best I think that's out there is this:

Video shows nothing about load alerts, custom saved searches etc etc. We also have a mobile version which has other features which isn't shown. I don't use it much though cause it's just not the same as what you'd get out of using a computer.
