Has anyone heard of the Freedom program Interstate has? Sounds similar to Schneider

Yep..I think I've said it before but browsing JCT and Swift threads there are drivers that want fuel to go UP so they get higher FSC.

    That's sad.

Nope but I just scanned their site after you posted and I am surprised.
    Looks like they're copying Schneider.

I thought we were the only game in town but looks like not anymore.
However with a smaller company I'd be worried about how many loads they offer and of course what kind of rates they give out.
Too new to know those details but I'd glad others are following suit.. maybe will keep Schneider on their toes knowing they're not the only game in town.

One of the reasons frieght is so low right now and the holiday rush seems to be glacier slow is because a lot of these companies have pre-stocked there store rooms for the holiday already. Think about all the black friday freight we pulled in august and september. One of my daily financial market reports yesterday stated that the wholesale market was reporting one of the biggest increase in stock levels on there shelves going into the holiday season in years. What that means for us is we hauled the freight this summer. Everyone was wondering were the surge was for the summer, well the surge started at the begining of the year when it should have slowed down and kept at the same levels until about a month ago.

If I was a company looking at my shipping costs over the past couple of years. One thing I would notice is the weather this time of year and through the winter has been unusually bad causing delays, lost product from truck accidents, upset customers, ect. So why not ship those extra loads during the good time of the year for weather, increased truck capacity since more trucks run during fair weather months which means lower rates to ship. From a company stand point of view that would make sense and make the 4th qtr numbers look good on profits if there are no losses, no high freight charges, and lots of sales. This is how you "pad" the numbers to make investors feel good about the economy. Plus, I am starting to see reports of retail stores that aren't planning on opening for Black Friday but instead just have online sales to be shipped to the house instead.

All of this type of change in the retail world will effect how we run out here and what time or year is the peack. The best part or the worse depending on how you fair through the winter is most trucks aren't prepared for this downturn and will end up closing up shop by the time we see the increase in freight next year.

Schneider is not the only gave in town. There are companies that offer choice but don't advertise it. You have to earn your stripes so to speak for it to be offered to you

Yeah but that's different though vs being a job offer.
I think it's good more of this becomes available so should Schneider try to screw us we have similar options.

Interesting...if anyone finds out any more info, please post. I would call, but only having a few months experience, they probably won't talk to me. I called Schneider about Choice when I was almost done with school just to get info...when I told them I didn't have one year experience, the recruiter didn't even want to answer any questions

Dude who ever said you had to tell recruiters the truth? They lie all the time.

Use a deep voice, tell them your name is John Smith, you have 23 years experience, own a Western Star 5700, been an O/O under your own authority the last 7 years and are interested in finding out more details about their program.

What you really wanna know is their lanes and rates but they probably won't tell you all those specifics.
It's a new program so you'll need some guinea pig drivers there to run it for a bit and find some inside info through them.
