Sooooooooooooooo proverbial question. Would you do it again or not at this point??? Debating going O/O with one of TWO companies. I'm driving for Schneider atm.......... tanker, but going to go back to van as an O/O. Trying to decide if the choice program has degraded or it's simply not "gravy" any longer. When it's easy anyone can do it. When it's challenging you need to be a business person. I'm simply trying to get feedback on if it's worth the plunge here with Schneider or the alternative company.

While yes the money isn't as flowing as it use to, it's like that everywhere now. If you do the homework you'll see that.
I'm still doing fine and am happy. Most my complaining is because I've been spoiled here from when things were rolling amazing and now it's just not like that anywhere.
You have to do whatever is right for you and everybody is different.
I'm still here and don't plan on going anywhere.. if there was someplace better I'd take this truck I'm paying for there.
If you tell us what the other company is that'll help. If they offer $2 all miles on cross country runs I'll sign up tomorrow lol.

The other company is Swift. I have two partners running with them. I love the idea of booking own freight. I just don't want to make that first three weeks with no truck payment really suck cuz I'm not able to find a niche to run in. I don't mind relocating with freight. I am also of the opinion I want to find the regional lanes and relocate as they dry up or transition.

You hit on a great point FW. Is it just that the program isn't GRAVY any more? Now you have to actually work at it? I mean I don't see myself sitting waiting to book loads. I'll plan a number of days in advance so I can "watch" the board when its not DAY dependent.

    It's on their website.

I'll put it to you this way if a Swift driver ever came close to earning what I do it's time for me to turn in my truck and go back to being a company driver.

Well my last one was 45500 and this one says 37779 on the w/a. So I would have to say.................no. But the chip loads going in are tough to resist.

come on man $2.518 is on loads up to 25 miles long which isn't even worth the time involved.
    100 mile load pays $1.248
    150 mile load pays $1.18

    and keeps on going lower....
    there's no money there

Most Swift flease drivers I talked to and have posted here average in the $1.20 range all miles driven with FSC
    Nothing spectacular about that

    OceanDan Thanks this.

Well I've been here about a year and I'm doing fine.
How good somebody does is up the person though, how much they're willing to do/put up with.. where they'll go, how often they want to go home etc etc.
General rule of thumb I've noticed is the more I'll hate the load the more money it will pay lol, true story.
The nice long light easy loads running in the middle of nowhere pay peanuts here for one.
    That's the fun of percentage!

    OceanDan Thanks this.
