Thanks FW...For the weight I was curious as to if you accepted a load based on rate compared to weight and it affecting mpg and fuel cost.

What I care most about is rates and where it's going. Then I take the best of that..
Weight, drop and hook etc etc does't nearly hold much value for me.

Now if I had multiple options going to around the same area for around the same rate then I'll take the lightest one and/or one that's drop and hook.
It works both ways like I said and most of the time loads weigh less than what they're listed for. Not all shippers give weights and sometimes it's a guess on Schneider's part. Sometimes the max possible weight is listed.
I'm anal about rates and location not weight.
    I'll take a 45k load 500 miles to IL for $1.40 before I'll take a 2k load 500 miles to PA for $2 but that's just me.

I have my own truck but am leased to Schneider.

You can get your own plates and permits or you can get them through Schneider. Your choice. You run under Schneider's authority, you don't need your own.

Insurance is in the same boat... you can get it from SNI or get it on your own as long as it meets their requirements. You could choose to split it too, such as getting your own bobtail insurance and have the rest covered by SNI.

I have all of the above through SNI. My tractor is valued at 31k and it all (plates, insurance, etc) costs me around $120 a week.

man that was freaking stressful driving.
I don't think this load was worth it. Barely could make some of these turns downtown and it took me an hour to go 6 miles.
