Yeah. Unfortunately I can really only blame myself. I went to check rates a few times. Of course the site was overloaded. I gave up then forgot till the deadline passed.

I think it's time I start a little black book with the names of all the drivers that drop a trailer and mark down it's in perfect condition when in reality it needs 4 new brakes, drums and springs, 4 new tires, 2 lights and an annual inspection and pm. Yep, that trailer was sure in perfect condition.
What even gets me is the one marker light you could see from the driver side mirror and the viable wires that are cut dangling from the trailer.
Of course you take it to the OC and the shop takes 24 hours to repair the loaded trailer. They were to busy working on empty trailers before they could get to my loaded one
That load was delivered 24 hours late and I got to cancel the $3400 in revenue I had booked already because of that. But hey, who cares right? We are just independent contractors anyways. Plus we know nothing will happen ti that driver that dropped the trailer like that. He'll just get a stern talking to or maybe a qc message about it.
Now I'm going to be late for another load because of no empty trailers and the one at the OC they assigned me has another trucking attached to it.This just makes me want to leave schneider with this kind of stupidity they think is acceptable. Grrrrrrr

You're right to be pissed at the condition of that trailer. But I think a lot of that has to do with periodic maintenance. Whomever is responsible for routing the trailers for inspection is mostly responsible. I think a lot of drivers are also frustrated. Worn brakes and drums? Tires worn? We should never be in that situation. Maybe a bad light, flat tire, air leak, things like that. And in that case we as drivers should all take the 5 minutes to report it.
I'll bet a lot of drivers don't even realize the log report alone is not going to get the trailer fixed. They need so send in a message to the shop under defective trailer.
But those trailer don't look a day over 70, am I right??
