Well indeed. That snow forecast has way too many pretty colors on it.

Your expenses look high to me...but your numbers are moving up each week which is good, there will be those weeks where it just doesnt work out? Do you set a daily revenue goal? Do you average all your miles for a week, not just paid...it cost to bobtail etc? Are you taking full advantage of the free accounting? Good luck

Mostly the Midwest, but I have gone into the northeast a couple times as well.

I'm keeping my loads about 5 days out. Sometimes a bit more if I find good ones that fit together nicely.

There is definitely a lot to learn! Even after reading for months before starting this I feel like I only know a fraction of what there is to know.

My daily revenue goal is $415, that also happens to be my break even when I include all personal expenses as well truck costs and ~$650 per week for fuel. So far I've hit than goal every day/week.

I am keeping an eye on my pay per mile, for all miles, not just loaded. Right now I'm at $1.32 for all miles since the day I started. I'm working on getting that up. This last week I'm at $1.57 for all miles. My profit should be just a touch above $1,700 for last week.

Why do you include your personal expenses in your revenue goal and not your complete rate. I'm so confused at why you would go into business for yourself to just to pay yourself "your expense" and assume this a revenue goal?

I'm not an ic but I would believe that you still need to account for your personal expenses i.e. car payments, house, personal insurance, etc. Because if you don't, you'll won't be making enough to pay those if you are only making enough to pay your business expense.

You have to figure out your minimum rate business and personal together so you aren't shorting yourself on your loads.

I pay myself a salary every week. Everything else goes back into the business. If your a one man gang... you can pull money from business side to pay personal bills and vice versa.

Perhaps I didn't word that correctly. My daily revenue goal includes my salary as well as everything I need to pay for the business. So far I've been well above that minimum and I have been putting the extra money into the business savings account.

    Fuel is a variable
and Revenue? Revenue goals don't mean crap. You earn earn $415 on 600 miles or 30 miles here in one day.

There's currently a load in Knoxville going to Tampa, no way I'd do it for that rate though.
