As a company driver yeah what your experience has been imakes complete sense being paid cpm. However if you take the time to read through all of these IC threads listen objectively to what they're telling you, you will find that the shorter runs are to your benefit

Actually, I kinda like a mix......I'll do both.....all depends on where it goes and what it pays. But truthfully, with the rates like they are right now, if you don't do a few short ones during the week, you're not gonna be real happy with your rate per mile average. Despite the crappy rates, I still can roll $1.50++ average for the week (chump change for sadwar.....I get it......but for us solar powered snow birds, it ain't bad).

I do occasionally take a longer run, when I need to take a breath and see something different. But only if I'm prepared for a very low settlement.

would any of u lease or owner ops know if it is a federal law that you cant have anything mounted on the back of your truck such as a bicycle?
-
I've seen people with bikes in the back of their truck.
Also met one schneider driver that keeps a bike inside their sleeper mounted where the top bunk would be. -

The more you will hate the load the better it will pay generally lol. True story. -
Or you could look for one like I saw yesterday, 66,078 lb of who knows what.Home_on_wheels Thanks this. -
Life ain't all peaches and cream in the NE right now, too few loads and too many IC's. And I know for a fact that company drivers are now taking loads that IC's used to run. I understand why, but it still burns...
I'm happy right now clearing $1000 a week. Less stress..
But I am pursuing other career opportunities outside of trucking...
Roll on....Opus, 48Packard and rickybobby Thank this.
