I averaged well over $2.00/mile to the truck leased on to Sunteck Transport out of Jacksonville. I booked my own loads and no one bothered me. Had a brand new van I leased thru them. Cost me $85/week. They paid cargo insurance. 80/20 split.
My average settlements after fuel, trailer, etc was $2600 - $2800/week. I had weeks I did well over $3000. A few over $4000 even. That's deposited to my account.
Never had to run that hard either and ran where and what I wanted.

Of course step flat will be higher. But like I said, you can't just bring your power unit. And I doubt their van rates are any better than what you're getting now. I read you walk in the Jville break room, and all you see are drivers refreshing their screens all day.

Do you know if your friend is a good business man? There are people that can't make it work at Schneider.
I'm just speculating here, but wouldn't you think that Landstar invoices the customer then distributes the funds between the broker and the truck? If so, wouldn't that stop the broker from taking more than they should? -
@freightwipper .if you get a step deck and haul equipment and or machinery you can make a killing...how hard is it to throw chains??...I've done flatbed and I will be going back..I know what the high $$ freight is in flatbed...Home_on_wheels and Dominick253 Thank this.

Is that flat bed or dry van.
-
I'm willing to bet it's flatbed...van at Mercer can't be better than here..Dominick253 Thanks this.

Landstar would have to be the one invoicing the customer. That would be the only way the business model would work.

1.97 is 65% of what Schneider is getting. Add in that 35% and that means the average total rate is 3.03. If Schneider is getting it, others can get it in those same lanes as well. That 35% at 2100 miles per week translates to 115k per year.Pork Chop Express Thanks this.

I totally agree, and you forgot trailer rental and maintainence.freightwipper Thanks this.

First of all...all these people talking about how much higher the rates are elsewhere...here's my question..can,you put up or shut up??...anyone can say anything but let's see the actual facts and numbers on paper because I can turn around and say I'm getting $5mi just because I want to,doesn't mean I'm getting it...if you can talk the talk then let's walk the walk!!...talk is cheap!
freightwipper Thanks this.
