I will find out on Monday.
I should be paid $300 but.........
Supposedly in short... it was supposed to be a live unload.
They asked me if I'd like to drop being it will be "a while". I told them well it's supposed to be a live unload and you all have no empties.
Schneider told me today that if a customer asked you if you'd like to drop then that removes ability to charge detention even if it was book as a live unload.
I will find out for sure on Monday.
This was weekend staff i talked which is generally clueless.. (and of course 30+ min hold time to get through)

I looked in to them as well. Seen what you posted from the lie q1 numbers, that is Dow from 2.12 for q4 2015.
Then you only get 80% of that.
Then you have to have a trailer, or pay a weekly rental from them.
Get your own plate, or pay a bit more than you pay here.
Go somewhere like New Mexico, plan to buy a trip permit. Also plan on paying for various permits for any special loads such as alcohol or tobacco.
Tolls are on you, load board is on you.
All in all, when I did the numbers, it looked like I might do a tiny bit better per mile, but at the cost of wasting a ton more time dealing with brokers and live loads and unloads everywhere.
I had a few more details, but I just tossed my notes away from my conversation with them.
Just passing on the info I obtained.
I have a podcast link from a couple Landstar drivers, but not sure if I can post the link here. Pretty decent info on it as wellfreightwipper Thanks this. -
That's not true... Ive dropped a trailer for a live load because it wasn't ready, went home for 13 hours and still got 300.. Don't let them give u the run aroundfreightwipper Thanks this.

$2.12 x 80% is $1.70
Okay i can do that here.
However i don't pay for tolls and trailer.
Nor do i have to deal with brokers and all live load/unloads. Plus would lose out on all the parking we have here.
When I really break down other options for Van compared to here well..... we still have it pretty good. -
You can do that here, but it is possible you can do better somewhere else running the same lanes you run now. Not guaranteed, but possible. At those rates though, I think I would be content where I am.
I can't make that 1.70 rate where I live with Schneider, can't even come close.
The 2.12 is just an overall average. Much higher in some lanes, much lower in others. -
Oh no I didn't... I just put especially for vans, but flats are no exceptions

Whipper, make sure when you finally leave, you update your depart time......it will show you leaving and auto depart you (when you leave for a truckstop), and when you go to do it (when you're finally loaded) , it will already be checked. Just highlight it, and change it, and you'll get your money.
As an aside, $300 looks like good money for not doing anything, but's it's not that good in the whole perspective of things.
Holla at your ICA......good luckfreightwipper Thanks this. -
Did Big Mama come snuggle with you after she got off work, cause you were still there???
