It's not exactly "unfortunate", if it sucked here nobody would want to come lol.
At least Schneider is holding back on hires and not letting endless people join that want to now being the freight market tanked.
Things are a little better now but i think thats just cause winter is over.

From what I've heard the team board does suck.
Lets face it, Dry Van pays crap.
Only reason many ICs do well here is by providing SERVICE which means shorter loads, multistop loads, loads in population centers etc.
These 1000+ mile loads pay crap and long loads is what goes to the team board supposedly.
Heck most 500 mile loads pay crap here too.
If you're cool with running around for cheap and easy Dry Van work then IC team choice is for you.
If not then I'd look elsewhere.

We make good scratch here, I don't know what OD pays but we're at .57 with easy obtainable bonuses. But it's not all about the $ for me, it's the freedom this job used to be about. I guess that's why they call it the freedom and choice program. These companies have me so micromanaged, I might as well sit at a desk next to them. My wife keeps telling me it's the way it is now and I need need to get used to it, and she's right. So I have to find a way to be happy out here, or go home.

If you're a company driver that's pretty much the way it is.
A lot more freedom comes with being an IC but so does a lot more responsibility.

That's why I enjoy doing what I'm doing here...yes there's headaches once in while here with load situation but I like the idea I don't have some desk hockey telling me where and when to go and how to do it...lol

Live load this morning, customer told me to drop empty on road in front of docks and that yard jockey will put it in a door. Its been 90 minutes, still nothing.. empty still sitting there.
Yard jockey went past it a bunch of times.
At what point do i go in and say "wtf"?

I see multiple loads going south currently, they all pay peanuts of course though
