Really dude? you obviously havent read the thread...he pulled me into this crap. I skip over his comments. He quoted me and called me out, this is the result. I just talked about his complaints because he pulled me into this.

While obviously nothing is faster than drop and hook...most times. My experience is that loading and unloading flat is much much faster than dry van. On average of course. Union steel mills are almoat as bad as grocery warehouses.

But even if loading times were bad, i wouldn't get wrapped up in that. The only thing that ever matters is net. We have 14 hours to work with no matter if we do 1 short load or 5 of them. It's how many Benjamin's you got in your hand at the end of that 14 hours that matters. Not what that 14 hours was spent doing.

If I knew I could do multiple 40 mile $450+ (after carrier's cut) flatbed loads in a day well that would be worth it for me to switch.
If theres a market with a bunch of those loads I'd have no problem staying there for weeks at a time either.
Thing is though is that even realistic to pull off day after day? Flatbed markets I really know nothing about. All i know is company flatbed drivers get paid squat.

He complained the whole time he was at mercer to. So what? It effects me zero. You guys have issues with each other and that's fine. They are your issues not mine. My response to you is the same as to him. Ya wanna talk trucking and rates and regs and insurance and football and brunettes, I'm all for it. But I'm not interested in getting involved in interpersonal disputes and would appreciate being left or if them.

I normally don't do LTL, just happens that I was able to string a few on a coast to coast load I was doing. They were tarp loads so having the conestoga made it nice and simple.

@freightwipper I really have no idea what you guys make $ wise. Last week was a good week for me. I made $7198 to the truck with $826 going towards fuel and DEF last week. But that's why I was putting together a good LTL run. Unless I grab a long oversize when I leave the house next week I don't expect to do that then.

I have no idea who is right and who is wrong. It's impossible to compare van/flat or TL/LTL I'm really not even sure what you could argue about with those options. But if I started this then I am truly sorry. Was not my intention to mess up the SNI thread. I just thought the knowledge base shown in that vid was comical.
