Truckers wages averaged $38,618 annually in 1980. If adjusted to 2015 dollars, that would be over $111,000 a year

Average truck driver salary currently is about what it was in 1980! Crazy!

Heres one i just pulled up

School teachers averaged $16,000-$17,000 or so in 1980
Compared to truck driver averaging $38,000 in 1980.

Now teachers average more in income than truck drivers.

2014 high school teachers averaged $56,000

Truck drivers currently average around $40,000

In 1980 truck drivers earned more than double what School Teachers earned. Since then School Teacher salary more than tripled going somewhat along with inflation where as Truck driver salary is still nearly what it was 30+ years ago
This is just one example of how we're getting paid peanuts.
