The Fire Ant.

 

Fire ants are crazy here.

When I 1st moved to SW Florida 33 years ago I was enjoying mowing the lawn in December rather than shoveling the snow up in Michigan where I just moved from

Suddenly I feel a stinging on my nether regions next thing I I know I am ripping down my shorts and running for the hose.

Unbeknownst to me I had stepped in a Giant fire ant pile several times as I was mowing.

Bet I was bitten 50 times before I had them all hosed off. If I hadn't had the hose it would have been a losing battle.

They all get on you than correlate an attack at the same time.

Gotta pop the little zits you end with from the next day in order to stop the itch.

I'll trade you... 96 dodge 230k mi. I had for 19 yrs. Runs great, just need a paint job. How about an even trade?

 

Those lil fers are smart. The first one won't bite. He waits till 500 of his buddies are in position from your toes to your arm pits then he radios down to the rest and they all latch into you at once.

 

Supposedly they came in from South America on ships through Texas.

Guess they have migrated up north as far as Tennesee in the last 30 years.

 

Oh and if you think that's bad just wait till a new queen hatches and half the colony grows wings. The ######## get an airforce and launch an invasion.

 

I ran over a chunk of metal with my pickup running down the beach road a few years ago.

Pull over on the 2 lane road as there was not any side road for a few miles.

Proceed to crawl under the truck in the dirt to get the spare out from under the truck.

Yep you guessed , under the tall grass I found a giant fire ant pile. Thank god I had a towel and some water to beat and wash them off me.

I was literally covered head to toe in 1 minute.

Itchy back where you can't reach it totally Sucks.
