When hiring a part time driver you might want to plan on paying more than .50 CPM. For the month of June, counting only mileage pay (no training or bonus) I got .48 to the hub. Add in bonus and benifits I would need at least .55 CPM getting paid on a 1099 to make it worth my time. An extra 5 cpm would cost you $150 or so a week.
Just food for thought

Off the top of my head lets take "Celadon"... if you have 3+ years experience you get a whopping .34 a mile.
The Schedule would be the main selling point.. not many jobs out there offer 2 weeks on 2 weeks off Schedule.
Someone looking for part time it could work.
Didnt say nothing about 1099, an employee shouldnt be on no 1099. -
Oh man, a good paying load to Cali popped up right next to me.
Being tempted....

TMC IS worse then SNI. While they have great looking trucks and I'd love to own one, every 379EXHD has overt 1,000,000 miles and is priced over $50k. At 1 mil, it's really close to needing an overhaul and that's another $20k. There are a plenty of 379's that already have a platinum CAT overhaul in the $50-$55 range.
