Schneider will never say to lease on to them you have to buy a truck from SFI. That's the most redicious thing I have heard. While they may want that and push that concept for there own agenda...but making that a Pumkin Constitutional Amendment NEVER...

A few of the more sensible stuff I've read has basically included rolling eveything back to pre-obamacare. With the way thr Republicans are so eager and chomping at the bit to repeal it, I'm scared they'll be blinded by thr fact they can cut it that they won't think through how to replace it correctly.

But i agree, something needs to be changed but in a manner that puts the insurance companies in there place.

If you recall when the obamacare was passed it was a 3-4 year phase in plan. In that time period the insurance companies weren't restrained from hiking up the rates before the entire program was enacted. So during that period we saw the highest rate increases in the history of the health insurance industry. It was the Republicans that pushed hard to remove the rate freezes and caps on health insurance companies before obamacare was in full effect and left a pretty big yearly cap a company could adjust there prices each year.

So it needs to be adjusted or redone, but not repealed like everyone wants.

You must be connected with some decent brokers. I'm thinking those loads aren't coming off the load board.

Which loads in particular are you referring to? Everything has been using the dat or truckstop.com load board.

The biggest thing that has helped me get the loads is the fact I communicate with the broker from start to finish. They appreciate knowing where you stopped for the day, are you still good for on-time delivery, when your loaded, when arrived at the shipper and receiver, when you're empty, having the proof of delivery turned in within 2 hours of delivery, and having an invoice that looks professional. All those little things most drives don't do make you stand out from the pack.

Plus being professional and courteous to them on the phone and to the customers in person.

Being professional in this industry is something many drivers don't understand. I deal with two different brokers to get backhauls going back east from California and one has specifically told my dispatcher to let him know if and when I'm available so they can give me a load back, simply because I do the exact things you described. I update them every morning on my location , keep them up to date on my ETA and notify them of any pertinent information along the way(breakdowns, delays, etc).
